Swim
Comments: was trapped with people to my left, right, and front, and on my feet for about 75% of the race. Really could have pushed harder but there was no where to go! Effort was not as bad as I expected, frustration was much more than anticipated What would you do differently?: get faster and start FOP, otherwise I think I did the best I could in the given circumstances. And with all bitching aside my time was better than expected :) Transition 1
Comments: had trouble getting into cages. But was happy that miss "show up really freakin late and do some "fiendly consolidating" wasn't in the way too much. Hit T1 at the same time as the ladies on both sides of me but it was fine. What would you do differently?: nothing, I really don't know where the time goes.. Bike
Comments: mostly good ride. I did a lot of passing which made it go by fast keeping track of everyone else and cars etc..Since it's a big first timer race there were a lot of people going slow in the middle of the lane, making it tough to pass. Almost wiped out on the hill because person to the left of me stopped, blocking me in behind someone too slow, but got my feet uncaged before tipping over, restarted and finished the hill. Complete wuss on the rough down hill, got passed by about 5 people here, crazy people who I passed back a little later :) Focused on remembering to pedal on the safe down hills and keeping moving after uphills, its so tempting to stop and coast but I remembered to let my heart rate drop WHILE spinning! What would you do differently?: Sadly the only thing I could see doing differently is cross the forbidden yellow line more often, and I am a major rule follower :( Transition 2
Comments: no problems What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: Started out fine, saw hubby, maom and kids, gave kids high 5's took off al smiles and chating according to the pictures...no clue who I was alking to or why but I'm a chatter esp while running. At about the .75 mark I started feeling like it was going to be a very loong run and started plotting when I could take just a little break (which i NEVER do)after another .5 I suddenly foung myself walking, took a few minutes then after some water got back into it. then the hamstring cramps started and stomach cramps, never had this before so I was a little freaked out. Walked another few. Once I got started AGAIN it felt better by the last .75 I felt completely normal and bac\k to a decent pace. What would you do differently?: Not sure, I had to take the last 3-4 weeks mostly off due to a hip injury, so that probably hurt my endurance. Not sure if I could have pushed any harder, but hate that if I did I could have met my real (not what I told others) goal of 1:30. I was way off my predicted run time :( Post race
Warm down: dip in the lake, to come full circle :) What limited your ability to perform faster: hip injury at end of training Event comments: tough due to massive 1st timers who are to nervous to follow rules, but the volunteers at this race rock, and did a great job. Just dont understand why the run path crosses over itself ever nevermind 2 times! Last updated: 2006-07-27 12:00 AM

Went to friends house near race. Nice quiet dinner, made a few signs to put out on the bike course. In bed by 10 slept ok until 3:30. Had a latte, smoothie, chilled until traffic started picking up, then went to the race! Met up with EM73 and AD-CO, set up transit area, ran into a few other (non-bt)friends. Waited in big porta potty line.Next time 2 peice suit and the woods!
quick dip to loosen up a bit
Waited with EM 73 and met Celeb while waiting for our swim wave to go off.
