Pre-race routine:

Parked, unpacked everything into the garage area at the center of the track and then registered, got my timing chip, and set off to change into the speed suit.
Event warmup:

I had 10 minutes to warm up. And that time included getting my bike on the trainer and fueling for the race. Spun around a bit and spent a few minutes at and above threshold.

Comments:

They sent riders off every 20 seconds from the pit lane on the track and as I came onto the main circuit I kind of had to dodge a few people. Was pretty hectic at first with almost 200 time trialist going around in circles at the same time. Got used to it quick though and everyone seemed pretty good at handling their bike and not being squirrely.

There was a hill on the course too in the final turn. You wouldn't think of a NASCAR track as having a hill but it did, maybe only noticeable by bike. There was also a pretty strong head wind in one direction that took some mitigation each lap. Did my best to sling shot draft as many riders as I could on the windy section.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure, go out easier maybe. First and last laps were by far the highest power average. This was the first short TT I've done all year since the others around me all got rained out. Definitely room for pace improvement.
Post race
Warm down:

Spun around a bit, took a gel, hydrated, and got back out there for the TTT.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of warmup.

Event comments:

Very fun race. Not sure why it took me this long to make the drive. They do 6 of them through the summer with this being the 5th race. I'll have to see about doing the last one. Overall I did well for my ability and managed to finish within a few seconds of a USAC National Champion and a pro triathlete; I'll take it.
