Swim
  • 1h 16m 57s
  • 3800 meters
  • 02m 02s / 100 meters
Comments:

Overall, very happy with swim. Glad to not have leaking goggles. Just plodded along in the group. Didn't get tired and handled all adversity. Got very choppy and wavy around 1.2 mile mark. Then settled out after rounding buoys. Very happy on finishing it.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe swim a little harder. I definitely had it in me, but I didn't want to waste energy.
Transition 1
  • 12m 35s
Comments:

Slow transition. Long run on asphalt to changing tent. Got behind putting on arm warmers and gloves.
What would you do differently?:

Be quicker changing.
Bike
  • 6h 05m
  • 180 kms
  • 29.59 km/hr
Comments:

Solid ride. Target avg power 175-180. Came in around 160. Don't have the final data yet. Lost focus now and again on power. Lost chain twice on the steep hills going from little ring to big ring. Very annoying. Then had a noise in crank, so had to stop again to figure it out. Peeing of the bike was great. So, nice just to relive yourself and not wait/look for a porta potty. Peed 6-7 times. Knee started hurt around mile 90.
What would you do differently?:

Stay on power focus.
Transition 2
  • 05m 10s
Comments:

Probably slow, but I was fine with it. My legs were wobbly.
What would you do differently?:

go faster.
Run
  • 3h 57m 56s
  • 42.2 kms
  • 05m 38s  min/km
Comments:

Knee was in pain from the start. Ran per coach requirement of 9 min/mile for 6 miles. When 6 mile mark came, I picked up pace somewhat. At mile 10, knee hurt badly each step. Contemplated walking/quitting. Not an option given all the time into the adventure. So, I just grinded it out. Shuffled last 3 miles. I stopped once, but knee seized up, so I just shuffled. My target pace was 8/mile. Actual 9/mile. Given the bad knee, I'm happy with run.
What would you do differently?:

Take Advil at halfway point. I had it in my special needs bag. that was stupid.
Post race
Warm down:

Not much. Some stretching and choco milk

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bad knee!

Event comments:

Exceptional race and support. Would highly recommend it!
