Pre-race routine:

nothing much. just get up and go to transition.
Definitely not prepared for this race
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 1h 48m
  • 4224 yards
  • 02m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

This water tastes like boat gasoline to me!
Cannot see 1 foot in it and i was nauseated and almost queasy the entire swim.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure. Just a really rough day.
Transition 1
  • 10m
Comments:

Ironman. Not really a transition
What would you do differently?:

I could move faster
Bike
  • 5h 56m
  • 112 miles
  • 18.88 mile/hr
Comments:

Really didn't feel it today. Neck, shoulders and butt couldn't take aero position
What would you do differently?:

Train long....and definitely wear BIKE gear, not Tri-shorts and top.
Transition 2
  • 07m
Comments:

No rush at this point at all
What would you do differently?:

Keep it simple but definitely quickly change from real bike gear to real RUNNING shorts and top.

Run
  • 5h 02m
  • 26.2 miles
  • 11m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

Just continued stomach issues today. Never really got over the nasty swim water feeling.
Shuffled first half at steady 10 min pace....trying to feel better but stomach just got really bad anyway.
Went to the losers walk/jog intervals.
Too little too late, started feeling ok with 4-5 miles to go.
Actually picked up and ran about 8:30 miles for the last 3....no real reason but had about 26 minutes at 3 to go to hit 13 hours...figured i'd give it a shot...LOL
What would you do differently?:

LOVED the non-cramping help from salt sticks.
Perpetuem seemed good on bike..but still think i need to do gels to not bonk on run.
Definitely gotta figure out stomach issues for the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Watched some finishers, went back to room

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Almost no training leading up to this one. Really had no business being there.
What the hell though.....muddled through and got another tee shirt.

Event comments:

Nice event. Not sure if there's any economical lodging and we paid 800 for 2 nights at host hotel...ouch.
Like the venue and course...but i'm REALLY not cut out for this brackish salt water...!
