Precipitation
Total Time = 1h 25m 37s
Overall Rank = 130/333
Age Group = Clydesdales
Age Group Rank = 6/14
Pre-race routine:

Woke up late due to alarm not on- still woke up at 5am. shower, poo, and drink. Ate POP TARTS out the door. Got to race and set up for team. Bike tire malfunction with 10 mins left - had tube changed and hub tightened. THEN weather delay with sever thunderstorms - 2 hour delay and race shortened the Olympic to sprint, lost original fuel and had to reorganize quickly when race resumed before 10 am
Event warmup:

Nothing - just hopped in water and went.
Swim
  • 15m 51s
  • 740 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

Went out in the wrong wave, men 0-39, but found out later there was a Clydesdale wave. This palced me with about 78 swimmers, I swam on the outside to avoid most of the congestion - made the swim easy but could have pushed harder. I was more ready for the Olympic distance thant the Sprint so I went more at the Oly pace.
What would you do differently?:

Get in closer and sight a little better. But overall- I finished where I thought I would - the middle
Transition 1
  • 02m 39s
Comments:

Hard to get on bike at first - congestion so i ran ahead and hopped on. But overall, got on the knee brace very quickly and had a little stumble with race belt and socks
What would you do differently?:

organize transition better but due to confusion with weather it was okay
Bike
  • 38m 8s
  • 12.6 miles
  • 19.83 mile/hr
Comments:

Had a good pace group that we all kept pushing each other around the course. Too many bikers not knowing the rules and congested areas. NO ONE CALLED LEFT! too many bikers in the blind spots.
What would you do differently?:

Run people off the road who do not follow rules or callout. Otherwise pushed well.
Transition 2
  • 00m 35s
Comments:

Very quick, ran straight to rack, iwas on the end and flipped bike onto rack, popped helmet and gloves and ran
Run
  • 28m 22s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

Best time yet!
What would you do differently?:

Could have picked up the pace more, I trained for the Olympic and could have gone faster but the wheels and not there yet
Post race
Warm down:

walked around with some stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

KNEE and the 2 hr wait

Event comments:

just waiting for next year
