Swim
Comments: A guy 4 spots ahead of me said he put down the wrong swim time. He tried to get us to go ahead of him but we didn't listen. He got in the way. I felt bad at one wall I pushed off of a guy instead of the wall. He was just in the way. I like pool swims but they can get congested. What would you do differently?: I was trying for an under 5:00 swim but the congestion in the pool slowed me down but overall I thought it went well. Transition 1
Comments: It was a long jog from the pool to transition. The transition area was set up so the quicker swimmers had to walk there bikes the farthest leaving T1 and entering T2. The pavement was wet and that made it slick with bike shoes on. What would you do differently?: Nothing, was a perfect transition for me. Bike
Comments: I'm glad I live in east TN. We ride either uphill or downhill. This course was perfect for me. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: First race with Yankz in my run shoes. Worked perfectly. What would you do differently?: nothing, perfect transition for me. Run
Comments: I was cramping the first .5 mile then started getting a good pace. This was one of my best runs this year except for the first .5 mile. What would you do differently?: I have trouble with cramps in the calfs and can't seem to find a remedy. Post race
Warm down: Drank water and a gu gel, walked around, showered and changed clothes for the ride home. Packed up all my wet stuff. What limited your ability to perform faster: I didn't feel good all week leading up to this race, didn't get to train all week, was a little tired when I started. Event comments: Team Magic is the best. Met a lot of nice people, got to visit with Special K. This is my favorite race. Last updated: 2006-07-31 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4am. It was pouring the rain out at home. Ate 2 small bagels. Drove 100 miles eating honey every 30 miles. Arrived at 6am. Didn't rain until the race started. Registered, got body marked, took 1 hammer gel and drank some water.
Rode my bike .5 miles to check the mechanics, swam 200 yards.
