Total Time = 1h 17m 32s
Overall Rank = 115/670
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 19/70
Pre-race routine:

Omega Oat waffles and coffee. 1 gel about 30 min before swim start with water and gatorade
Event warmup:

Did a 10 min jogging warmup. Was also supposed to do 10 min bike warmup and 10 min swim warmup, but that wasn't possible. My swim wave was the last to go, an houur after the first wave. And I didn't want to risk losing my rack spot to take my bike out.
Swim
  • 14m 17s
  • 750 meters
  • 01m 54s / 100 meters
Comments:

I couldn't catch a draft to save the life out of me. I'd find feet and pass them in an instant, get to the next and the same thing. So I found myself alone most of the time. My wave also seemed to be taking a very outside route along the course, while I stuck very close to the bouys
What would you do differently?:

Draft better
Transition 1
  • 02m 16s
Comments:

Run down a levee that I had to take slow because of my ankle. Was very muddy by the time my wave got into T1 since we were the last ones to go, which slowed me down. Didn't want any more twisted ankles.
Bike
  • 34m 19s
  • 12 miles
  • 20.98 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a mechanical issue on the bike, though, which really limited my performance. My cable on the front derailleur broke and I was only able to stay in the small chain ring for the while 2nd lap. Got passed by 3 guys in my AG who I had passed on the first lap. Cost me a couple of places. Oh well.

What would you do differently?:

Not have my bike break.
Transition 2
  • 01m 18s
Comments:

I had to put my ankle brace on at T2, so that added some seconds, but still not too bad.
Run
  • 25m 21s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Run was a little hillier than I anticipated. Also not much shade and is was hot by the time I got out there. Wish I would have pushed a littled harder on the run because I wasn't quite tired enough at the finish line.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster!
Post race
Warm down:

bagel and water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mechanical issues on bike; pushing bit harder on run

Event comments:

Had fun at this race; great venue. Spectator friendly. Great to see all the BT'ers plus my lovely wife supporting me. Of course this race was put on by my coach, so I can't complain!

This is my last triathlon of the season until IMAZ next April. Scary.
