Comments:
it was a lot warmer than i expected. i wore capri running tights and a long sleeved shirt. could have been in a bra and shorts. luckily i wore a tank under the shirt, so i stripped down to that early on.
was planning on negative splits - HAAAA HAAA HAAAAA HAAA. my chart on nike+ is like this:a reverse bell curve. not good!
What would you do differently?:
wear lighter clothes. START OUT S L O W L Y!!!!!
Post race
Warm down:
found the family. did some yoga with ella and fi. did the 1k kids race with ella (who did awesome! she started to walk at the end, and i asked if she had a sprint in her, and she took off like a shot to the finish line!)
What limited your ability to perform faster:
starting off too fast.
Event comments:
i love this race. the kids have a great time and the time flies for them while i'm out running. there is an obstacle course, kids race, activity tents, etc. the kids goodie bags are better than the adults! GREAT family event - probably one of the best family friendly races we've ever been too (which is why we've come back three times!).
