Pre-race routine:

Woke up with a piercing headache behind my right eye and a wind chill of 14. Almost didn't even get out of bed. But I did. Bundled up like crazy and drove downtown. Got my packet and then sat in my car for 30 minutes.

Comments:

Not a whole lot to report, except my starting mindset was to casually jog this out since it was just a fun run. But about 1/2 mile in I decided to actually run at a good clip (for me) and really surprised myself with the pace.
What would you do differently?:

Recruit some friends to run with! I did this totally solo and didn't see anyone I knew - I mean it was fun, but a bit lonely.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. The cold helped me knock this out faster than I anticipated.

Event comments:

Great little local race benefiting GraceMed, serving the uninsured. Chip timed but otherwise no frills. Easy peasy to park with race morning packet pick up.
