tried to stay at the back of the group to avoid the crowd, but found I was catching up with others. eventually went wide to get to open water

not be afraid to hold a position in the pack

did not focus on transitions, but there is lots of room for improvement after my first try.
What would you do differently?:

get my own bike shoes so I don't need socks. consider clipping shoes in and strapping in while riding. PRACTICE!

Did not push too hard on the bike, but was getting consistently passed. felt good on the aero bars.
What would you do differently?:

leave the camelbak behind, since the water stations were easily enough for the sprint distance.

couldn't get the bike back on the rack (lol!) otherwise pretty smooth w/o any significant practice.
What would you do differently?:

again, transitions weren't my focus, but practice would make a big difference.

felt great and had plenty of gas after the bike. was able to regain a few places against people in my wave and finish strong

have the grit to really sprint at the finish

Warm down:

walk around, rehydrate and stretch. ate a little, but not much.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

1st time, so experience and speed in the swim / bike segments were the limiters.

Event comments:

1st race and I'm hooked! Back for Oly next year, and hopefully more!
