Comments:

This leg surprised me the most. I've only been swimming once or twice a week. I'm around the pace of my 12 year old self. Victory!
What would you do differently?:

give a faster time and hope to start sooner.
Transition 1
  • 02m 22s
Comments:

Slipped off the bike at the start. Wet + wobbly legs = disaster.
What would you do differently?:

Need to practice transitions while dripping wet.
Bike
  • 46m 47s
  • 14 miles
  • 17.96 mile/hr
Comments:

The mud was gone because of the last 2 nights of storms. But, there were branches and leaves everywhere along with some deep puddles. It was cold getting going but great once I was all heated up. Another quick note- the number thing for the bike has to go somewhere else. It drove me bananas on the bar and scratched all up and down my leg.
What would you do differently?:

not fall off getting started. That transition was rough. but otherwise I'm shocked at my MPH. Watch out here I come :)
Transition 2
  • 01m 35s
Comments:

again transitions tripped me up. I need to practice actually hanging my bike. It was awkward and it showed.
Run
  • 29m 11s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Room for improvement. I think next time I should be under 29:00. It's hard enough to run a 5k fast for me, harder still after swim and bike. More long running and consistent running will be key. I also feel like I might not be running it at my all and maybe I need to go out more aggressive. It's like I've set my 9:30 pace and i know what it feels like so I stick there.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around and ate a banana

What limited your ability to perform faster:

transitions. I need to really practice those under race-like conditions Today totally counts as race like transition practice by the way!

Event comments:

the drink stations were perfectly placed so you ran through them twice at good intervals. not a fan of pool swims or this short of a swim. The bike route had a lot of turns to slow down for. I loved the run because it wasn't out and back or a loop but an interesting mix where you had all kinds of people to see. Wish they walked the course and cleared storm debris.
