Run
Comments: I put in a hard effort. I knew 2 girls were ahead of me..one a young whipper snapper age 15-19...so I just made sure no other chicks went by. What would you do differently?: bring my own water. I dehydrated. I felt icky the last mile or so. Def more water. I was happy to take 1st in my AG, but really felt more proud I was 3rd overall female. Behind a super fast woman in her 20s that did around 1:40, and the 15-19 year old who did around 1:55. I can still hang. Post race
Warm down: Waited for Fra and Richard to finish. Both killed it! came in way sooner than I was anticipating. Fra got second in his age group (75-79)...b/c he talks too much! and Richard took 1st AG- finishing much faster than he originally thought. FUN. We changed, loaded up in the car and started the drive home. Stopped to eat at Chili's, I think it was. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just the shape I am in...unfocused training but having fun. Event comments: This is a great race. This is my 4th time there. Last year I did 34 miles but never finished the 50k...to finish I would have had to run the final 5 mile loop. Wasnt' happening. I have done the 13.1 twice before. It's a fun company that has a series and I just love the atmosphere they create! I will go back next year for sure. Last updated: 2015-01-01 12:00 AM
