Swim
Comments: Kicked butt (for me) on the swim...19th overall out of 60 people but that was just the swim :) It was all downhill from there. What would you do differently?: This is the easiest part for me and I really have no idea why. Transition 1
Comments: Our times included the transition. So I don't have the exact time for this. Took the time to have a Gu. Bike
Comments: Wish I could have hammered on the bike- but the run was hard enough as it was so its a good thing I took it easy. Transition 2
Comments: Again, no time for t-2 as it is included in total bike time (I think) Had a Gu. Run
Comments: Holy cow...trails thru woods, pavement around a golf course, back around the lake we swam in and then out to the desert (seemed like) for the last mile and a half. I got TOTALLY psyched out as we were coming around the lake because I thought we were done. Then we had to cross the road and do another lonely, hot, miserable mile and a half that seemed like it would never end. I had to walk just a little bit. What would you do differently?: Run more and run FURTHER! Post race
Warm down: Came around the corner to the finish and my three girls, my parents, my good friend, Debbie - they were all cheering like crazy for me. It almost made me cry. My dear old husband was backpacking in the mountains with my TP's husband (don't ask how that all ended up on the same weekend) Anywhoo...hugged my girls, walked around, had a barbque, hoped to win a door prize. There were no age group awards this year as it is the inaugural Treasure State Tri. They said next year... What limited your ability to perform faster: Deciding to do an Oly after my first sprint ever on July 22nd....probably not the best training time. Event comments: Next year I'm doing this one again! Had an Ezekial raisin english muffin with peanut butter and honey. One cup of coffee. Walked down to Beth's house and waited for her babysitter. Jumped in the car, drove to Bozeman. Very casual atmosphere. I wish I hadn't had such anxiety. I kept trying to think about mundane things like what the girls need before school starts...grocery list, etc.. But, it didn't work. Beth was nervous too.
Went in the lake up to my neck...called it good.
