Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:15. 1 cup of coffee, a little cake, 1/2 grapefruit, water/G2, and cheese sandwich. Ate a bit more than usual. Also took a couple of Ibuprofen. Headed off at 6:15, arrived at 6:45.
Event warmup:

Did a little warm-up jog around UHall parking lot, then stretched inside JPJ to keep muscles warm. Got to the start line, but probably should have gotten to the start a little earlier. Was behind too many slowish folks for the first mile or so.

Comments:

Better than I anticipated since I had only really run once since the half marathon and my back still isn't 100%. I guess the half plus the temps must have helped. Plus, can't say I didn't have fresh legs! Felt pretty consistent for the whole course. Hills gave me some trouble - likely just the extra weight still. But for the most part, even kept the hills under 10min pace.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Felt good about the race. May have actually had a little more in the tank than I anticipated.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with Joe and his sister for a bit. Walked. Drove home, showered, and conked out on the couch.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training and weight mainly. Well, and age.

Event comments:

The one race I try not to miss each year. See lots of friends, and lots of people cheering along the route.

Performance: Good
5 mile 44:03 (approx. 43:33) 10K 54.20 All miles under 9:00. Very even pace for me.
Course: Pretty easy through 4 miles, then the downtown section from mile 4-7.5 is kind of grueling with its steeper hills and cobblestones. Main street is long, but reasonably flat (though can be windy), mile 9 uphill by the "Corner" and then around Clark Hall (just before mile 10), you can start to pick it up again through the finish.
