Swim
Comments: good swim, faster than 28 42 in May, there was more current, they measured the transition time differently last time What would you do differently?: not much Transition 1
Comments: 6th in T1 in age group, What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: hard ride due to wind and hills, used aerobars more than normal which helped, went slow up over the bridges, same bike course 3 minutes faster in May with less wind and heat Transition 2
Comments: 8th in transition time, helped by where my bike rack was Run
Comments: somewhat of a bonk due to the heat, ran slowly plodding, had to actually stop at the last 4 water stations and walk to try and cool down, ran same course in 52:50 in May, this was my toughest run in a race What would you do differently?: more long runs in the heat for training Post race
Warm down: dumped cold water on my head, stood under fountains to try and cool down due to over-heating What limited your ability to perform faster: heat, OK until the run, then didn't have enough stamina to keep up a pace, glad to get through the race Event comments: they had plenty of drink stations at least, Key Biscayne sometimes doesn't have enough drink stations Last updated: 2006-08-06 12:00 AM
