Pre-race routine:

Got home from working day shift, changed clothes, and ate a snack. I had a 60 minute run on my schedule for the day so I left the house 40 minutes early for a 30 minute "warm up" run.
Event warmup:

I got to the race, one mile from my house, 10 minutes early and realize I didn't have my bib. So I ran back to the house to get it. While running back to the race I saw all the runners heading up the hill. They started early. So, I made it to the start, reset my Garmin, and took off.

Comments:

Not much to a 5K. It's out and back. A big hill starts it with a cascade of hills on the other side. Gets flat for a bit then turns around.
What would you do differently?:

Remember my bib!
Post race
Warm down:

This is where I failed. Did not do my typical recovery routine. Wife made plans to eat out so I wiped down, changed clothes, and head out the door.
I had some soreness in my legs and didn't feel well the next morning. It passed quickly though.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much. Maybe not the sprint home for my bib.

Event comments:

They have a big set up with a verity of vendors and stuff to do. Music, food, etc.
