Swim
Comments: A decent swim considering the the water could have been so much colder. I had a decent swim but I just never really settled in. I nailed the first buoy but lost my way with the other three. I easily added a minute due to misdirection. When I got out of the water - I got really dizzy and that cost me some time too. Also feel like I was never able to really push my speed - just trying to relax and have fun. What would you do differently?: Do some OWS before Transition 1
Comments: I just couldn't get by arms out thanks to the watches on my wrists. There has to be an easier way. What would you do differently?: Practice Bike
Comments: Since I knew I wasn't going to be able to run the whole 5K - I made this my race and really pushed the pace. My goal was was average 15 mph which was 10% faster than my practice rides. I was helped my a rider who kept challenging me - she'd pass me and then I'd pass her. We talked a little smack. Heading up the last hill - I passed her for what I thought was the last time only to lose my chain. By the time I got it back on - she was 50 yards ahead. I gave it everything I had an passed her with 100 yards to go. It was the high light of my race and it was a lot of fun. What would you do differently?: For me - it's my level of fitness that's killing me. So I guess - lose 50 pounds. Transition 2
Comments: I decided to run without sox. Saved some time Run
Comments: I walked 2 ran 1 for the first mile of my run. But then I made it my goal to run each mile faster than the last. So, I started running for larger chunks of the run. I was really tired on the last hill but I pushed it and kept my eye on my pace. I kept getting closer to 12. With 200 yards to go - I was close to 11:30 but then some college girl who had stayed up too late almost passed ut in front of me. I tried to get her going but her friends came over to help. It cost me some time but I would want someone helping my daughter in a similar situation. What would you do differently?: Ah train. I've been doing all my running in the pool so I felt pretty stoked about this Post race
Warm down: Braut was awesome. What limited your ability to perform faster: A general lack of training. Event comments: A great race Last updated: 2015-05-10 12:00 AM
