Pre-race routine:

The usual, had some breakfast and coffee, headed out about 7:15 and got to the race site around 8:30.
Event warmup:

Got tied up chatting with folks on my team and got out late for my warm up. I only had the ability to run about 3/4 of a mile and do some dynamic stretching. I actually got distracted and had to sprint back to the start line and got in the corral with about 90 seconds to spare.

Comments:

Had a pretty good run. I felt fairly strong most of the race, although the humidity was getting to me a bit. The last uphill sort of took a lot out of me and I had no kick left at all. I couldn't hold off the two guys that were about 6 paces or so behind me and they passed me in the last 100 or so meters.
What would you do differently?:

Not much I had a good race, set a new 5K PR, and felt proud and honored to show support for those who gave all in service to their country and communities.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit, circled back with my team and cheered in the rest of the folks on the course.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much

Event comments:

Great race, great cause, and I'll do it again next year.
