Swim
Comments: I went to the front and everyone took off so fast. I struggled at first to find my groove. At one point I just relaxed in to it realizing this was not to be my day. I got hit in the goggles which smarted and had a small leak which made my contact stick to my eyeball so tightly. And someone kept touching my toes - not a little tap but repeated and it really annoyed me so I kicked hard and I'm sorry to say - hoped for contact. After a while though it was okay and I remembered I was in the wave with the elite group so hence the speedy swimmers! What would you do differently?: Arrive earlier. Transition 1
Comments: Horrible transition. I didn't undo the zipper far enough before taking it off so my wetsuit got stuck on my hips and I could NOT get it down. Then I just planted my butt in the mud and struggled to get it off my feet. ARGH! Horrible horrible. My socks weren't rolled (as I didn't have time) so I struggled with those. Not graceful at all. Bike
Comments: Beautiful course. Sunny day. Smooth road. Sucks to be in the first wave and be a slow cyclist because all you hear the ENTIRE ride is "LEFT!". Transition 2
Run
Comments: Stayed focus and pushed the pace as much as I could. It got pretty warm on the way back. It's weird when you are hot and sweaty but feel a chill as your body tries to adjust to the heat. Post race
Warm down: Ran in to a ski season friend and chatted with him. Met up with Anne & Ken and got caught up a bit. Event comments: I love this race venue. Only complaints are - have a spot to enter the transition from the parking lot and more volunteers on pre-race registration desk. Otherwise another good event. Last updated: 2015-05-21 12:00 AM

Woke early and quickly got ready and packed the car and headed out. I made good time and should have had more than enough time to register and unpack but... I couldn't find my way from the parking lot in to transition without walking around the whole site (wasting time), I didn't have my bib so just threw my stuff on a rack, hit the washroom and then waited in line. It wasn't a long line but there was only one girl and she was taking FOREVER! I finally got my swim cap, was marked and got my timing chip with only 6 minutes to spare. Ran to set up transition - not the way I like and stuffed myself uncomfortably in to my wetsuit.
Ran to the water - everyone was already in and waiting for the horn. I was the first wave. Not fun. Didn't even have time to fully check out the course or find a good spot to stand.
