Pre-race routine:

ate my oatmeal, and drove an hour to the race

rode ~2 miles to make sure everything was working and that was it

Comments:

Horribly murky water, couldn't see your hand out in front of you. Was seeded towrds the back, so I had to pass a ton of peoeple. The buoys had been blow around, so the times were much longer than a true 1/2 mile swim. I had the 2nd fastest swim time in my AG, and was only beat by 10 sec by the fastest guy. Sighting wasn't great, and had to stop several times to see my way around others without getting too far off line. I wasn't happy seeing the time as I got out of the water, but after looking at the results, I was very pleased with it.
What would you do differently?:

I would probably opt for the elite wave start.

run went pretty well. Felt fast going out. Once I hit the trails and the first hill, I slowed a bit, but ran all the way to the top. Passed sefveral people coming back down, and came back in the road fairly well. I thought it would have been faster.

not forget my own shoes

walked around teh food tent, found the guy from whom I borrowed the shoes

What limited your ability to perform faster:

lack of strength on the bike

Event comments:

Another very good race. Very organized. Swim buoys had been blown around a bit, adding extra distance.
