Swim
Comments: started in the back since it was my first tri. Actually was passing people and didn't get beat up as much as I thought. Sighting was hard as half the swim was directly in the sun but just followed the crowd Transition 1
Comments: forgot gloves but bike was short so no big loss Bike
Comments: should have pushed it more although that may have killed me on the run. had two water bottles, one with nuun and one with GU. I drank one bottle total. What would you do differently?: need more long interval tempo training and need to stay in drops more Transition 2
Run
Comments: hot and sunny day - had to walk 1 minute each mile to keep hr from getting too high after starting out way to fast What would you do differently?: not much, run is getting stronger. for a warm sunny day and first tri i am happy with the run Post race
Warm down: walked around and grabbed water and food to replenish What limited your ability to perform faster: need to train more on bike and do more bike run bricks to work on run pacing. Event comments: I gave it a 4 rather than a 5 simply because it was my first and I can't say it is a top rating due to my lack of experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and if my schedule permits I will be back next year. The food at the end was awesome and the support on the course for such a small town was great during the run. Also the even was very well organized. My only critique would be the run along the mesh on the beach at the start of the run course. If you are careful its not a problem but I did see one person get hung up on it and fall. It bunched up very easily. Last updated: 2015-06-08 12:00 AM
