Comments: I went off course quite a bit, kind of a zig zag especially between the 2nd and 3rd buoy. Otherwise, I think I swam decently (for my own skills). Fell into a rhythm of 8-10 breaths before sighting. wasn't too difficult. only went on my back twice, for 20 strokes each time. What would you do differently?: better sighting. maybe every 6-8 breaths? Transition 1
Comments: very long run from swim to T1....they advertised it as a quarter mile, but I felt like I was running fast and it took me like 3 minutes to run it. I added this into the T1 time....even though the official mats were only right at the transition area. so the official timing looks like my swim was terrible with a fast transition. in reality swim was OK, transition took forever. What would you do differently?: nothing really. it seemed fine. Bike
Comments: passed 3 people. lots of hills, got into the drops coming down the hills. didn't have much time to drink, too many hills and gear changes to deal with. drank about 8oz Gatorade. sharing the road with cars....some big trucks were being assholes. What would you do differently?: train hills better Transition 2
Comments: lost a water bottle as I came across the mats. took a second to get it. Run
Comments: carried my Marika water bottle, drank about 1/3 of it. also ate about 4 energy chews. no cotton mouth problems this time. I felt I ran really strong, passed 10 people in all. Mostly kept a pace of 8:55, I was carrying a 8:10 pace for a while but those stairs really slowed me down quite a bit. What would you do differently?: train stairs more. Post race
