Comments: Good conditions Performance was very good for me 2 to 3 min slower than anyone placing at about the same overall time as me, I am just not a fast swimmer, yet Had to go around one person to round bouy What would you do differently?: Swim lessons and practice to get faster Can't think of anything during the swim I gave it all I had, was thinking during the swim "you gotta be fast, there are some fast bikers and runners out here" Transition 1

Comments: Felt strong Hard to gauge performance against overall field as most riders I was passing were in higher age groups who had started before my wave Had to slow down once for Sheriff car and once for fire truck Stopped once because chain had gone off the casette all the way to the right (highest gear) and put it back on I caught up with everyone again who passed me when I had stopped Nobody passed me otherwise Some rain, but did not affect me, was thinking I have ridden in worth than this RPM was not picked up on on Garmin, but I just rode my race Cadence has definitely gone up since starting Saturday morning Tri Shop rides What would you do differently?: Ride highest gear during pre-race ride on previous day to ensure shifting into high gears goes smoothly Transition 2
Comments: All went smoothly Run up the muddy hill after transition I stayed a bit off the main beaten path to not slide back down in mud What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Leg did not really affect me, adrenaline was too high or I just didn't care Mile 1 and mile 2 were strong, mile 3 I fought, thinking I did 16 miles, I can do another one Was thinking "this is what I trained for" Writing on forearms helped Many people on course, always someone to catch up to, which defintely helped, too Nobody passed me What would you do differently?: Can't think of anything Post race
Warm down: Walk to car and back (put on dry clothes at car) Event comments: Well organized Event was delayed 15 min to give everyone ample time to find parking as due to the rain parking plans had to be changed I felt strong, personal bests in all three swim, bike and run Wish I had the capability to swim faster Tried to get massage after getting back from car, but they were not taking athletes anymore at that point Last updated: 2015-06-21 12:00 AM

When transition opened:
- Got marked
- Transition setup exacly where and how done in practice
Get timing chip
Rest, take a nap
Have an apple and a banana
15 minutes before transition closed:
- Give setup another look-over
- Start Garmin
- Uncover shoes that were covered for rain protection
Did not check whether RPM on Garmin works :-(
Wrote STRONG and FAST on forearms anticipating a tough run worrying about leg
10 minute run with 1x strides starting 20 minutes before swim wave start
DId not want to do strides more often to be easy on leg, concerned because leg felt previous day's strides
