Swim
Comments: Must do more free and less breast, even though there's congestion in the water. The 2.54 min/100 yds pace is a little off of my training 2 min/100 yds pace, and I can push myself. I was out of the water at 17:58, and the other 3 mins was the run to the transition area. Transition 1
Comments: I love my tri suit and not having to change clothes! Ate 1 Clif Blok. Bike
Comments: I can ride harder, and strive to do a 20 mph race pace, but I always get psyched out by wanting to make sure to save energy for the run. I was also in my middle front ring, which I probably should have changed before the race but forgot about it. Standing up in the saddle when going over the hilly overpasses helped to stretch out the legs for the run. What would you do differently?: Push myself harder Transition 2
Comments: Did downward dog, but otherwise I don't know why this transition was so slow. Ate 1 Clif Blok. Run
Comments: No bricks, no twinges from the left piriformis muscle. I could have pushed harder; I finished the race with too much energy left! What would you do differently?: Push myself harder. Post race
Warm down: Stretch stretch stretch. Banana. Gatorade What limited your ability to perform faster: Fear of running out of gas for the run portion made me hold back. Event comments: Very well organized given the sheer number of participants and spectators. Last updated: 2006-08-13 12:00 AM
