Pre-race routine:

Listen to Franz Ferdinand "You're the Reason I'm Leaving", lay out transition, nothing fancy. I think I had a banana and some cereal with milk before leaving the house.

I used the person who entered next to me as my "pace dog" and I kept up with her through the whole leg.
What would you do differently?:

Work on increasing endurance to swim more freestyle and less breaststroke, although the breaststroke is always useful for gaining bearings and seeing what's going on ahead.

Now I have a cadence computer, and will use that for race pacing. I can push myself harder in this leg, particularly if I increase the intensity of my bike training.

This one was hard because of the rain. I also took time to do some yoga stretches (downward dog) to make my calves less susceptible to bricks.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not wanting to run out of energy during the run, so I didn't push myself on the bike as hard as I could have.
