Swim
Transition 1
Comments: Long T1- Took some extra time to dry and put on a dry shirt because it was so cold and windy. Bike
Comments: My first time on my new triathlon bike. I was setup to high in the aero bars and struggled with the head wind on the second half of the course. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Ran off course by following a pack of people who clearly didn't know where they were going. I didn't know where I was going either so I happily followed them. We ran about 3 blocks off course before we realized it and and to run 3 blocks back to the course. What would you do differently?: Know your race course. Watch for markers. Don't blindly follow the people in front of you. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Run course problems, wind, bike setup Event comments: Very good early season race. Pool swim is nice in April when an open water swim would be far to cold to consider. The bike course is a good out and back with one down and up hill in each direction. It was a very windy rainy day so weather was a challenge. The run course winds through the small town of Petersburg, IL. Pay attention to the course markers. There is not a volunteer and every possible turn. Last updated: 2015-07-14 12:00 AM
