Swim
Comments: The swim was a lot better than my last two. I was more comfortable in the water and even though I was scared shitless that I wouldn't make it when I entered I was ok. That first bouy was really far away so that was a bit scary.. But my goggles were fine and didn't leak this time and I was happy about that. I was able to swim pretty consistantly and I was happy about that. What would you do differently?: I would try to to more crawl.I was one of those who was doing mostly breast stoke....but then I wasn't that keen on putting my face in that dirty water. I am going to see my new swim coach on Tuesday so that is good news. Transition 1
Comments: Compared to my other tris it was good. I even ran out of the water and that is the first time doing that. I am new at this and generally I am just happy to make it out of the water in an ows alive. What would you do differently?: I need to begin running with the bike. Next time. Bike
Comments: It was good ride over all, but it didn't start out that way.I don't know what I thought but I truely didn't expect the hills to be so large in the beginning. My legs were really tired after the swim. I used my legs to much in the swim so it took me a couple of miles I almost came to a stop on a couple of the beginning hills. In fact I really thought I was going to puke at one point. UGH What would you do differently?: I would use my legs less in the swim and perhaps then I wouldn't suffer so much in the beginning. I really did well at the end. I didn't stretch my calfs before I got off the bike so they were so tight when I left the bike it was horrible. Transition 2
Comments: My calfs were so sore that I could barely get off the bike. I didn't run into transition like I wanted but it was OK... What would you do differently?: Remember to stretch my calfs at the end of the bike. Run
Comments: After getting off the bike my calfs were so tight I culd barely walk. It took me a good mile to feel good enough to run. AFter that it was OK.. What would you do differently?: Next time I will stretch my calfs a bit more so that I feel better from the beginning of the run. Post race
Warm down: What warm down..........I could barely walk..... What limited your ability to perform faster: I was a bit entimadated by the swim so I didn't try and swim freestyle and I am sure that it hurt. Using more arms in the swim so that my legs are dead for the bike and then stretching my calfs at the end of the bike so that I am ready for the run. Event comments: I'll be back next year.... I was there early and I realy felt like things went well getting there and getting set up.
I really did more stretching before this event then any other one. It was nice staying in the hotel right next to the course. It was a short wald to the transition area.
