Comments:

There was lots of contact at the start. This was the most contact that I've ever had, including other sprints as well as half iron distance. It took until after the first turn buoy to get some clear water.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure...swim faster although this is my weakest of the 3 disciplines

There was a short run up the beach which had a strip of carpet down. There were 2 small pools to run through to rinse off your feet, which was nice. Transition was U shaped so after I grabbed my bike, I had to run with it around the U and out the other side. There was a long run before the mount line.
What would you do differently?:

Perhaps clip shoes on bike. Would have made the longer run out of transition easier.

This went well for me. I tried to spin up the few small hills while keeping my speed up. Goal was to keep 140 watts and at the end, my average was right on 140. Pleased with this bike segment.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. very happy here. Made some nice gains on the bike this year.

Went sockless trying to save some time. For anything longer than a 5k I wear socks but this worked out just fine today. Had to run the U shape of T2 before heading out on the run. Left my hat as the person next to me laid her shoes on top of it and the inside was all sandy and muddy. Figured it out soon after leaving T2 when the glare got me. Otherwise, went well

Comments:

This took a good mile or so for me to get my run legs back. I've been training for long course all season so it's interesting to throw a sprint in the middle and see what happens. This could have been faster but overall am pleased with this time.

Event comments:

Great volunteers. Good course although bike is open to traffic. Well organized and would recommend this race to anyone.
