Swim
Comments: For me the swim was rather good, the last race i did i panicked the entire swim, i had to breast stroke 99% of it, but I was still happy that I wasn't freaking out and didn't have to flip over to my back. I even passed a few people from my wave and the wave ahead of me. What would you do differently?: Need to learn how to freestyle. Transition 1
Comments: I was pretty happy with the time overall since I was racked on the opposite end of the bike out, didn't have a choice since you were racked based on number. What would you do differently?: I need to get a tri top, getting the cycling top on was a pain when wet Bike
Comments: Overall I was very happy with the bike, i have only been avg 18.5 on the bike in my training rides, I thought for sure I was going to burn out, but amazingly did not. What would you do differently?: Need to drink a little more, I had a gel in the last mile to get ready for the run, maybe could have done that a little sooner. Transition 2
Comments: I almost crashed when i unclipped from the bike my cleats hit the pavement and I went sliding. What would you do differently?: I haven't mastered the bike handling skills to get out of the shoes on the tri bike, i can do it on the mtn bike. will have to work on that. Run
Comments: The run went pretty good. I had to pee so bad i almost stopped at a porta potty on the course. The local community was cool everyone was sitting in their driveways cheering, and some even had sprinklers hitting the road you could run thru. Didn't drink at the beginning, had a cup of gatorade at the 1/2 way point. What would you do differently?: More Bricks, i've done a few but the legs just weren't there. Time was slow, i really need to work on the run. Post race
Warm down: drank a beer, had some fruits and veggies, walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of running base, need a better swim stroke. Event comments: I really enjoyed this race, it was nice to see what little training i have done this year has paid off. I took 19 min off my time from last year and couldn't be happier, I know I need to work on the swim and my run, but I was still pleased with the progression. Last updated: 2006-08-14 12:00 AM

Got up at 4, loaded the bike up, hit tim hortons, had a bagel and gross coffee. This is the 2nd year in a row that i've done this race, participation was down quite a bit from last year, but still a great race with great community support.
not much, got in the water, swam a few strokes.
