Swim
Comments: My time looks horrible but it was 2nd in the age group - the swim was just plain rough. Largest age group by far and I never found a rhythm Surprised my time relative to AG is good What would you do differently?: Wetsuit would have been great - no clue it would legal - the temp dropped several degrees overnight Transition 1
Comments: Broke my aero helmet - I had never used these sunglasses with this helmet in a race - heard a big crunch and broke the thing Bike
Comments: Got to racing with some folks including up some hills - thought it might be better than this What would you do differently?: Bike has been interesting all year - it has been worse than last year and in general worse on my new wheelset even though I like the wheelset a ton. Transition 2
Comments: Fast transition Run
Comments: Nice run and a great morning for a run What would you do differently?: Given the lack of running and coming off a piriformis injury this is to be expected. I was easy over a minute faster in the spring. Which would have put me on the podium. Post race
Warm down: Got my times and then ate some BBQ What limited your ability to perform faster: Knew I was getting sick plus coming off an injury - I almost did not show up this morning given how my head was feeling. The virus would kick in after the race pretty hard Event comments: I did not race it last year when Jimmy Johnson put his name on it; it is still a fun race. The swim course could be better. Great weather and great post race atmosphere. Fun race and one that I enjoy Last updated: 2015-09-01 12:00 AM

Overall Rank = 48/251
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 5/19
Out of bed and ate my typical race day breakfast
Got to the site at 6:45. I had not raced this last year and the transition area was different. The chip pickup and marking were in the place where TA was. Got oriented, everything setup and was good to go. I knew I was coming down with a virus from my wife to boot.
Did a brief run and activation warmup. Managed a quick swim with Jimmy Johnson actually and came out of the water a little cold.
