Swim
Comments: Took it out quick and settled in. Not many people to fight with. What would you do differently?: maybe a little faster Transition 1
Comments: went pretty well. not the flying mount i hoped for but wasn't slow What would you do differently?: Suit stuck and need to work on getting the helmet on at same time as taking off suit. Bike
Comments: Pot holes were bad. Police bike led me the whole way. What would you do differently?: went too slow worried about burning matches. Now i know i could hold a mph faster or more Transition 2
Comments: took my shoes off at the wrong time and ended up popping my shoes off the pedal as i turned into. took some time to recover that mistake. Unsaddled a bit too early but rode into the dismount area anyways. Feet were numb and had a hard time sliding them into shoes What would you do differently?: tighten my pedals so shoes don't come out so easily. Unsaddle at last moment Run
Comments: Felt rough coming off bike but after a mile or so i got into a rhythm and was able to pick up pace as race went on. good run What would you do differently?: Nothing. went well Post race
Warm down: walked around with a bottle of water for 5 min. then went to cheer What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of experience. only 6 weeks of training. Event comments: Swim was full of coontail and I got caught up in it a few times. Not much room in transition area. Not enough competition. Bike course was on roads full of potholes (Michigan, what can you do). Had police escort which was very nice. Temperature started out cold and warmed up nicely. Alot of turns and some were so sharp i either had to ride wide into the road with traffic or brake into the turns. Run was the best part. Nice scenic path that was flat. Water station every 0.75mi. Shaded and could cheer people on as i passed them going both ways. Last updated: 2015-09-13 12:00 AM
