Pre-race routine:

Ate toast and an energy bar. Drank a lot of water, forgot to stretch.
Event warmup:

Had to get a volunteer to come over and make room on the rack for my bike. Not a good start. Stood in line at the porta potties. 12 for almost 500 women?
Swim
  • 12m 38s
  • 400 yards
  • 03m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

What can I say? I suck at swimming, but because I was in the first wave, I was like 17th going into transition.
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster
Transition 1
  • 01m 22s
Comments:

Need to get this under a minute.
What would you do differently?:

Just more efficient
Bike
  • 42m 27s
  • 13 miles
  • 18.37 mile/hr
Comments:

A really good bike course for me. Again, I can't seem to judge...I could've pushed harder. Only three people passed me, the last one was the overall winner. I can still go a lot faster.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder, I was too comfortable.
Transition 2
  • 01m 28s
Comments:

This is getting faster, but I still need to get this under a minute.
What would you do differently?:

I should've been in more of a hurry
Run
  • 33m 9s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 40s  min/mile
Comments:

Tons of people passed me. I ran the whole way in a sort of crab-like shuffle. Need to pick it up just a little.
What would you do differently?:

Pushed Harder
Post race
Warm down:

got water, drank some blue drink and hitched a shuttle back to the start

What limited your ability to perform faster:

20 pounds

Event comments:

I really enjoyed this race, I felt like I could've done really well on the swim and was disappointed. The crowd and community support was great, and riding down Hwy 41 with no traffic to worry about was a total blast. Finishing the run on mainstreet was pretty cool too.

I didn't get the whole parking thing. The literature said the park opened at 6am. We got there at 6:09 and there was almost nothing left. The other worrisome thing was the porta potties. 12 for almost 500 women? What genius figured that would be enough? I would definitly do this one again.
