Pre-race routine:

Usual
Event warmup:

Light jogging, get the calves loose and heart rate up - 9 minutes or so
Run
  • 07m 47s
  • 1.28 miles
  • 06m 05s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, I was just about at the pace I expected, shot for 6-6.10
Transition 1
  • 00m 45s
Comments:

T1 always better than T1's in a Tri
What would you do differently?:

Get even faster
Bike
  • 30m 19s
  • 11.1 miles
  • 21.97 mile/hr
Comments:

The top bike times were all within seconds of each other, too bad I dropped under a minute behind the top 5. My buddy finished 4th overall by 16 seconds. The top run paces were 5.30, otherwise we'd all have been biking side by side which would've been cool. What DID work to my advantage was having faster bike times than the next 2 in my age group. Fast enough to hold them off in the final run. This is what will have to continue to be a key factor in future competitions
What would you do differently?:

Go faster, never is there a race where I still don't think I can go faster
Transition 2
  • 00m 26s
Comments:

3 guys hit T2 together, we're all dismounting at the same time. Exciting moment. I got out of T2 pretty quickly, used every second of it in final run
What would you do differently?:

Nothin
Run
  • 08m 16s
  • 1.28 miles
  • 06m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt heavy legs all pumped from first run and bike. I am always more pumped and burning in a du vs. a tri seriously! I pushed myself, because those feelings make me want to slow down. I had two guys on my tail, I peeked. I held them off, that locked in AG podium and inside top 10 final overall. I was very close to complete tank emptying on my effort overall, but what I've begun to expect of myself in final runs.....DONT GIVE IN
What would you do differently?:

Nadda
Post race
Warm down:

lay down lol
stretch
put dry warm clothes on - chat it up with the top 10 crew, there were some blazing efforts in this one compared to the spring

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Wind and crowded sections

Event comments:

They put on a competitive and fun for all event. Very enjoyable. I love this course, it's tight and some winding moments. Lends to a sprint power type strength. I did the Spring installment and did it in 51.52 - In this Fall installment, I shaved FOUR MINUTES off my time. I am seriously improving and can't wait for 2016!
