Swim
Comments: Clearly not 1/2 mile. I was at that first Bouy real fast. And I know I am a 2min per 100yard swimmer. Water was good, not too cold. And traffic was fine. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time. Foot was actually hurting a bit running across the beach. Bike
Comments: Good Bike. I pushed hard the first 7 miles to the turn around. Passing lots of people. On the way back only passed about 4 riders Mostly on the mile 7-14 where it was flat with a little incline. I was averaging 17-18 during that portion. Felt very stong. The last 3 miles of hills were a little tough. Plus my left foot was really hurting!!! What would you do differently?: Push a little more on the middle section flats Transition 2
Comments: I walked from the Timing mats, to Transition, then walked all the way to the road. About 1:30 of walking. I was Hurting bad!!!! Run
Comments: If not hurt, I should have done this run in about 33 mins. I almost Quit!!! My left foot was hurting so much I almost stopped and took off my shoe. But I kept going VERY SLOW!!!!!! At about the 2 mile mark, my time was 24 mins. And then the pain broke. And I still had pain, but finished strong! What would you do differently?: Happy that the pain stopped, and I finished strong. Post race
Warm down: nothing but grabbed water, apple(local grown, Nothing better!!!) and bagel! What limited your ability to perform faster: Left foot. I think I have a bruse on the Second metatarsal. If still hurts after this week and weekend race, I will go the Podiatrist for a check!!! Event comments: Will do again next year. I liked the Small race feel and friendly people. Besides the Dude!!! Up at 5:30a.m.
Left the house at 5:55a.m.
Easy drive up to Greenwood Lake.
Ate a small bowl of cheerios and bananna.
Setup Trans Bag. Left to go stretch on the road. Grass and cinder paths were all wet from dew. Someone said it rained overnight??
While away from my bike, this 'Dude' puts his bike about 3 inches from my handle bars, over my Trans bag!!! I was a bit pissed. So I said, how about you move to the other side of the rack, since they want 7 of us in this section, and there already 4 on this side. He did not get it!!! I then said, please move you bike over at least 1 foot. He still did not get it!!!
UGH. So I moved his bike
