Event warmup:

Ran about a 5 minute warm up out on the course. this is a reverse order tri so the first event is the run.
Swim
  • 00m
  • 328 yards
  • / 100 yards
Comments:

I started just a little fast
What would you do differently?:

find a slightly slower rythm, then pick it up the last 250. Train more swimmming
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Run to bike is T1. This was my first race on the new bike. Using the clips was still a little new. and running in the bike shoes was tricky
What would you do differently?:

practice the transition. Perhaps get different shoes and pedels
Bike
  • 00m
  • 13 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
Comments:

going out was tough, but I felt like I paced myself well, and had enough energy to turn it on during the return trip. I felt like I left nothing on the table.
What would you do differently?:

learn to ride faster. be stronger before the next race. Practice clipping in.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

T2 - transition from bike to swim.
What would you do differently?:

get in the water quicker.
Run
  • 00m
  • 3.11 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

I took it quite easy at the start, but then picked up to a good pace after about 1/2 mile. It felt very good. This was only my second race, and running is not my strong suit, however I enjoyed having it at the beginning. I pushed it hard for the last ~ mile, and again I did not feel like I left much on the table on the run.
What would you do differently?:

I might start out just a little faster. However I really enjoyed running with a lady from Albuquerque. ( maybe Pilgrim's wife?? )
Post race
Warm down:

The swim is almost a warm down. There were BBQ hamburgers served afterwards. I did no real warm down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training. - especially speed on the bike.

Event comments:

This is a very laid back race. I enjoyed the format, I ejoyed the competetors, I enjoyed the organization. There is no need to get there two hours ahead of time.

Course: Straight out and back after a few blocks of winding through city streets. The course was very well marked, and attended to. I estimate there was a 32 MPH head wind going out, because coming back I was doing 32mph (my fastest ever) and felt no wind in my face.

Course: very clearly marked, except the turn-around. Everyone ahead of me went long, so I did too. Nice flat out-in-the-country run. The wind had not come up yet, and it was senic. Flowers, fields, ponds, and a crop duster working.
