Swim
Comments: Decided not to wear a wetsuit What would you do differently?: Wear a wetsuit, not go out as hard as I did, draft better. The draft thing was not entirely my fault. Being in one of the last waves there were a lot of slower swimmers in the water and it was tough for all of the better swimmers in my wave to stick together. I ended up coming out of the water about 5th from my wave. Transition 1
Comments: Getting going right away was hard bc there were a lot of 90 degree turns for the first mile getting out of the park. What would you do differently?: I would have a wetsuit on so my time would probably be a bit slower. Bike
Comments: This is where my race fell apart. I tried to push it too hard too soon and with my stomach in knots to begin with that wasnt a good idea. I had to sit up out of aero and just cruise for a bit to get my bearings, then I pushed it and the same thing happened. I was hoping to Avg over 20 mph bc there are some nice flats and downhills. What would you do differently?: Ease into my pace and not hammer from the beinning. Drink more water and take GU. I just didnt have the appetite to take it. Transition 2
Comments: Went into the dismount too fast and almost fell. What would you do differently?: Stay in control and cruise into the dismount rather than hammer to the dismount. Run
Comments: I am a crappy runner as it is but I really sucked for this race. Didn't do any one thing to hurt my run, I just did not have the energy and my stomach didnt start feeling better until the last part of the run. What would you do differently?: Pay attention to my race during the other 2 events to not kill myself for the run. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: Stomach Event comments: This is a great local beginners race. Last updated: 2006-08-17 12:00 AM

Stomach was a bit weird and gassy so I didn't eat anything except a banana. It was my sister's first race so I helped her get her Transition area ready and hit the bathroom again and again.
Swam a bit, did some sprint intervals. Had a lot of time bc my wave was at 8:10 and the race began at 7:30.
