Swim
Comments: had a good first 200. seemed to get crowded and tough to pass during the 2nd go around - a lot of people not wanting to yield, but I made it through pretty well. run to T1 was long and interesting. What would you do differently?: not much here, I've been working on my swim and, with the loop and transition run included, I'm happy with my swim performance. Transition 1
Comments: slipped on the asphalt and almost fell coming off the curb out of T1. got on my bike and was off What would you do differently?: not slip Bike
Comments: improving on the bike. got passed by 1 or 2, but passed a few as well. bike is still my weak leg, but I feel I've made strides in improving here. What would you do differently?: maybe go a little harder. I do like to save some gas for the run. Transition 2
Comments: took me a little longer to get my running shoes on and get off. saw people passing me in T2. I lost a few positions, but was confident I would get them back on the run. 32nd overall in T2, 4th in AG What would you do differently?: go faster Run
Comments: good run for me, although I did have the run course short at 2.87mi (so I had a 7:31 pace). What would you do differently?: not a lot here - - I focusing in on people to reel in and pass. My running has been going well, so I thought I could maintain a 7:30pace. good to pass the people that blew by me in T2 Post race
Warm down: ended up beating #3 in my AG by 1.5 seconds. we chatted while looking at the results (it wasn't close at the finish, just based on our start times). he said my passing him forced him to run harder to try and catch me. What limited your ability to perform faster: still need to get better on the bike - -work in progress Event comments: good little sprint and a great chance to assess early season fitness. this was to be a warm-up race before the next tri which is now cancelled. got up at 5 to get some oatmeal and a banana. headed out the door for the 90minute trip out to Florence
racked my bike and got my gear out. walked around to familiarize myself with the area, transition, etc. got in the pool and swum a few 1/2 laps across the diving well. really think i need to swim a little to loosen up before a race start.
