Garmin measured swim to be about 1700 meters. This was a swim PR for me and felt great the whole swim. Sighted well and felt strong coming out of water. Came out of water 3rd in my division.

Comments:

My goal in this race was to push the bike as hard as possible with still having enough in my legs to run well. I felt strong on the bike and my legs felt great coming into t2. It was difficult to maintain speed on this bike course because of the amount of turns you had to make on the naval base. There are very few spots on this bike course to get aero and push it because of the turns.

Comments:

My goal for this run was to run continuous low to mid 7 minute miles throughout the race. Felt strong off the bike and was able to maintain a solid run for both laps. I was able to keep virtually the same pace for the whole run without issue.

Event comments:

This was an awesome race in a great location. Swim and run courses were great. The bike was fast, however there are way too many turns and really rough patches of asphalt along the course to get a comfortable pace going. I really enjoyed this race and will definitely be back again.
