Swim
Comments: Cannot log my time because my timing chip fell off. The race time states I swam in 28 minutes, nope not me, I felt stronger but there is no way I did the swim in 28 minutes. I would have been one of the fastest women! That being said I felt much stronger coming out of the swim and I noticed I was not nearly as far back as usual. Transition 1
Comments: Really took my time here and added socks. The rain was just starting to come down and I knew it might get cold. Used my arm warmers but didn't bother pulling them all the way up bc it wasn't that cold yet. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: Took my time and felt weak; Downed a gatorade and more blocks. Run
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I have no idea what my race times are and I really don't care. I did this race on minimal training since I was not motivated all year. Worst training year ever! I did discover that I can ride in the rain just fine, I am stronger than I realize but could be so much better and I am ready to eat for a purpose. Event comments: The volunteers are amazing and the race is well run. This year there were still activities and people hanging around for us slow folks. The participants are friendly and encouraging as well! My husband and I enjoy attending this event every year. It is my first race of the season and always gets me going for the rest of the year. Arrived at the camp site on Friday. Had pancake breakfast on Saturday with light snacking and steak with quinoa for dinner and steamed veggies. Really light race day breakfast; small amount of left over quinoa and a rockstar.
