Swim
Comments: Need more practice at open water swimming, navigating, sighting. Transition 1
Bike
Transition 2
Comments: Didn't start taking feet out of shoes until too close to finish of bike - only got 1 foot on top of shoes, other foot had to un-clip from clipless pedals. Run
Comments: Good pace at start of run, 2 people passed me, but I passed both before end of the run. Was not excessively winded on home stretch, giving good form at finish. Post race
Warm down: walk around, drink, banana ! What limited your ability to perform faster: bike with broken spoke Event comments: Good race, great venue, nice people organizing, great volunteers. Nice flat course, lake was great for swim ( cold enough for wetsuit, not so cold as to be chilling ). Want to try the International or Half distances next year (think I will be away for Fall Festival). Last updated: 2016-04-29 12:00 AM

Got to event later than I should. Got bike out of car and found rear wheel bent - took bike to repair pros at event, and she pointed out I had a broken spoke. She recommended not riding on it, but I did anyway. She recommended taking turns easy, and she let out rear brake so brake pads wouldn't drag each rotation of the wheel. Due to lost time, had to scramble setting up in Transition. Got body marking and chipped, and had my son run back to transition to drop my bib + number belt on top of my running shoes. Wetsuit went on easy, then got into water to get acclimated.
Swam a little to get comfortable in the suit and get used to water temp, which was pretty reasonable at 71 F.
