Event comments:

This is an excellent race. Usually a first year race has a few glitches, in fact that's just about a certainty. But I don't know of any in 2015. Simon and his crew, many of whom are experienced triathletes, put a lot of time and effort into organizing and staging this event and they are to be commended. I've done about 85 triathlons including several IM's, and I enjoyed this small town sprint race very very much.

Course: Easy swim in a nice outdoor pool. Time trial start - every 15 seconds a swimmer pushes off. I am a poor swimmer, but I was well seeded at least, as no one passed me, and I just passed one struggling lady in the final 25.

Course: Fun course through the country. There are maybe a dozen intersections, but all were very well controlled. The smaller were handled by volunteers and the larger by Flagger Force, who did a GREAT job. The course has flat segments and some climbs. None of the climbs are monsters, but I did see a cyclist walking up the one at the northern end of North Pennryn. That is likely the steepest one, but as long as you use momentum from the preceding steep downhill, it needn't be too bad. Still a granny gear climb though.
