Pre-race routine:

kids allowed little sleep. Get up late, miss some announcements, can't find a spot for my bike, have to squeeze inbetween people who are takeing a little extra room, get my suit on, announcer saying get out of trans area, so i figure when i get back in i will finish. annoucer says go to water. at water i realize we are not going back, i will lose my wedding ring in the water, i dont have my googles so i start my warm up.
Event warmup:

RUN, on stomes, back to trans area. yell at me if you want i need my googles. realize they were only telling sprinters to get out. ditch my reing, grab my googles, run back to start. fenced out from group. find a way around the fence, make my way to front of group. group turns around, im at the back of group heading into water w/plenty of time.

Comments:

I can breath and davigate in the pool but not in open water.
I spend too much time thinking about things other than racing and swiming properly. navigating throws my breathing off terrably.

Spend more time in the pool

IT band just killing me the whole way. Knee felt as if it was froze up. Din't slow me down too much though. Just hurt a lot.
What would you do differently?:

Recognize injuries and get the resolved before races.
Post race
Warm down:

Limped around in severe PAIN

What limited your ability to perform faster:

PAIN and slow transitions for which there is no excuse, just a mental error

Event comments:

I recomend this course. Young kids being naughty and a knee injury took the fun out of it but I loved the course.
