Comments:

This was my first MoM. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Again, it was 95 miles of fun riding and 6 miles of pure hell. The Category climbs were too steep for me and I had to dismount and walk these most of the way. Overall I kept a close eye on my watt/power output and worked hard to pace myself in order to just finish.

I made sure to keep plenty of nutrition going on the half hour ... alternating Stingers and Gels every half hour. Also, kept my water bottles full of NUUN - 2 tablets per bottle. The NUUN works well for me to prevent cramps. The rest stops were well stocked with potatoes, PB&J sandwiches, Gatorade, et al.
What would you do differently?:

Keep up the training to build more endurance, power output and strength.

I rode with my eye a lot on the power meter. This was an endurance race for me and the longest cycling distance I'd ridden. It was important to me to not burn my 'matches' too early and have something left in the tank for the final 18 miles and last climb, which was brutal.
Wind: Little
Course: The course was 95 miles of splendid Virginia road riding ... rolling hills; some serious downhills and some serious Cat.1 and Cat.2 climbs. Rest stops were well placed by the organizer and at just the right spots for me. Road surface was typical Virginia surfaces, wherein it can be really smooth and/or miles of the narrow, "heavy" road surfaces.
