Run
Comments: Karen and I ran together and didn't really care about pace. She was having a hard time regulating her temperature since it was pretty warm out. So we just went easy. It was insane how many people did this race and how many spectators came out to cheer. It was great running through the side streets. People were out cheering while drinking their coffee, some had hoses spraying the runners and some had music/instruments. The best was the Rutgers band near the fire house. The wind helped a little, but it was a warm day. We just enjoyed the course and being able to run together. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I didn't race this and was just enjoying running with Karen. Post race
Warm down: We grabbed drinks (Gatorade and chocolate milk) and walked to the car. We went to Bar A for post-race drinks. YUM! Event comments: This was my first time running the Spring Lake 5, what's described as the official start of summer. It was a really well run race, nice swag and good post-race refreshments. I would definitely recommend this as a great race. Last updated: 2016-06-14 12:00 AM

I ran from Karen and Mike's to the race start as a part of my long run. It was already sunny, warm and humid. I met Brad and Karen (who drove) and we hit the port-o-potties before splitting up. Karen and I found a good spot to start and just hung out chatting.
4 mile run to the race start. Other than that, no other warm up.
