Swim
Comments: Went out too hard too fast and started to panic and freak myself out. Had to slow myself down What would you do differently?: Breathe slowly and not go out too hard too fast in the beginning. Once I settled down, the second half of the swim was better Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I felt pretty good about the bike. There were times I could have pushed myself harder but overall, I had a good cycle. There was another woman close to my pace and she and I would pass each other back and forth joking about who was next to pass. It made for an entertaining and enjoyable ride. What would you do differently?: Push harder!! Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Not much! Run
Comments: I had a great time on the run. By the time I got to this leg of the race, I knew I could make it and I just started joking around with the people on the sidelines and other races. I What would you do differently?: I had so much fun in the run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My own mental game! Event comments: This was my first sprint and I loved every minute! There were some weather delays to start but once we got going it was great fun! The staff were friendly, the volunteers were awesome and the course is so scenic you forget you want to keel over. The only criticism that I have is that I missed the awards ceremony because I was showing a friend around Clear Lake who had never been there and also didn't know I was third in my age category. Any emails I send asking if I could pick up the award were ignored and I never received it which is really disappointing especially considering I placed on my first ever sprint.
