Swim
Comments: Biked with googles. Timing mat at start of T1. Had a slowish Transition as I had trouble finding a spot to rack bike What would you do differently?: Do to the full racks likely would have benefited from requesting to start in first wave Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Wave start 2 minutes apart. I was in the back for 2nd wave. Passed 50 or some before first hill. May have caught back of 1st wave. What would you do differently?: Start in first wave if able. Think I would have avoided some of the weaker riders. Transition 2
Run
Post race
Warm down: Tram down. then ran to swim start to get stuff and ran back Event comments: Overall this was a good race, and if I am visiting next year I will do it again. This was the 24th year of running this event. Compared to other events they seemed a bit disorganized. A prerace email advising you to get number and then drive to swim finish would have been helpful. Pics from previous years didn't have all finishers with numbers so I assumed chip was all you needed. Alternatively the ability to have picked up your packet the night before would be nice. Not sure if there will be race photos. Don't recall seeing a photographer. Decent race T. No medal. Training in Eastern NC there are no hills. Did hill workouts on treadmill. No mountain bike to train on. Traveled to NH by car over two days. Light training weeks leading into race due to car accident (no injuries just hassel) and heavy work schedule
Drove to race that morning. then had to drive to swim finish to leave run equipment and race number. No option for early pickup the night before was a little of a hassle. Was a 20 minute round trip drive.
None. No time
