Swim
Comments: The swim time included run from pool to T1. I exited pool at 5:35 and ran a good tenth of a mile to T1 What would you do differently?: My turns were slow as I climbed under the lane dividers. Should have swum under them. Transition 1
Comments: Sock ripped on left and that cost me a few seconds, but biggest slow up was getting shoes into clips and getting up to speed. Cost me about 10 seconds What would you do differently?: Maybe start working on putting shoes into clips before race. I have to practice that first. Bike
Comments: Never felt like I was in a good rhythm. Was capable of being faster if pushed a bit harder. What would you do differently?: Not sure if lack of rhythm was course or struggle I had getting clipped in at start. Could have been combination of two. Transition 2
Comments: I mis-racked bike so I had to move it and re-rack. Cost me about 5-10 seconds What would you do differently?: Pay better attention to right rack Run
Comments: Mile splits were 7:12 and 6:57. Would have liked run splits to be sub 6:50 on both, so some work to do What would you do differently?: More interval work in brick, runs following hard bike work Post race
Warm down: Hang out with friends and family. Watch youngest daughter run 10-14 kids triathlon. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not pushing bike and run harder. Otherwise not too bad a race. A few small snafoos cost me about 20 seconds or so. Event comments: There are some nice aspects to this race. It is great for beginners and a nice outdoor pool to swim in. Bike portion is too short. This triathlon could easily add 3 miles to bike and an extra mile on run and get a few more serious triathletes interested in it. Shirts and medals to all participants is nice, but awards for winners are not that great. Last updated: 2016-07-25 12:00 AM
