Comments: I struggle with wave starts as I get stuck behind slow swimmers and struggle to get around them. No rhythm. Big back up at pontoon boat turn around with guys stopping. What would you do differently?: Need to sprint out first 50-100 to avoid all of the slower swimmers Transition 1

Comments: Actual bike riding time was 27:49, extra time was attributable to mounting and dismounting of bike and then run to and out of transition. 1/2 course had some rough roads. Wind was against on way out, with side wind on way back.. Course was shortened due to recent chip and seal of portion of course. What would you do differently?: Not much. Tough course to get into good rhythm due to some poor road surfaces on portion of course. Transition 2
Comments: This is where I screwed up. Left Garmin watch on bike and ran back into T2 to get watch when I had already left T2. Cost me 25 seconds What would you do differently?: Forget the watch. Not sure why I went back to get it. Bad decision Run
Comments: It was really humid so I had a hard time breathing. Again, waited too long to make strong finish. Had steady splits. Would have preferred negative splits and average mile closer to 7:15 What would you do differently?: Not sure. There were. Not many runners near me. I passed 2 in first mile. Got passed around mile 2 and then caught a third runner just before finish. Obviously, would have preferred negative splits after getting legs back. Post race
Warm down: Drank some Gatorade, grabbed some wet rags, and then took bike and bag out of T back to vehicle What limited your ability to perform faster: Didn't sprint out on swim, wasted 25 seconds in T2 going back for watch and then not pushing miles 2 and 3 harder on run. Event comments: Nice race. If they can get bike back to 13 miles and perhaps on nicer roads, could improve quality of race. Nice awards post race and very nice post race meal.
