Run
Comments: First of all, I made the mistake that this race would be ranked on chip time not gun time. I started from the very back and spent the first 5K or so passing people. I think I probably passed close to 1000 people during this race without exaggerating. I think that I was at least 2 minutes slower than I could have run. I had to stop a few times as the course got bottlenecked at some points. Also burned a lot energy ducking left and right. What would you do differently?: Get there earlier and get at least a short warmup in. Also, start near the front since I can have someone to race with. Finally, I haven't had a lot of training before this race and in fact had only 1 run longer than 10K in the last 2 months. Post race
Warm down: no real cooldown, just walked around and talked with coworkers. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of training and not lining up near the front where I would be able to run with people close to my pace and actually race someone Event comments: First high altitude race! Got there a bit late so no warmup or anything. I did do a hard 90 minute bike workout this morning so legs were not rested. I figure it was my first high altitude race and really wasn't serious
no warmup
