Swim
Comments: Murky best describes it. No following someone else's feet since you could not see them. Darkest lake I have ever swam in What would you do differently?: Ask them to use a different lake next year! Transition 1
Comments: Grass in the transition area was long, and it was tight so I just set down to put my shoes on. It went quick until I the chain dropped as soon as I started to clip in. Just a few seconds and it was back on, so no big deal What would you do differently?: Did it about right, no changes Bike
Comments: Had some sections I felt really fast, only a few did I not feel on top of things. Lots of packs of slower moving cyclist. Probably a big number of first-timers led to that. Not really a drafting type back. I made sure not to draft, but didn't really have any situations like that come up. What would you do differently?: Very little. It went well Transition 2
Comments: Went quick, no real problems. I used speed laces for the first time, and liked them a lot. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Felt good first two miles, then was really hurting for about 1/2 mile. Thankfully I hooked up with a friend to help pull me through What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Didn't run as well as planned, maybe too much effort on the bike, or maybe just a bit flat that day. Event comments: Would rate it higher if the swim course was different. Overall lots of good energy and organization. YMCA staff was first-rate. Last updated: 2006-08-24 12:00 AM

Lots of conversation with friends. Did my usual breakfast of an Ensure and Gatorage.
Planned to swim, but the swim was closed before the event. Therefore no real warmup
